新年到 ～ HAPPY NEW YEAR!  咚咚鏘！咚咚鏘！咚咚鏘！濃濃的過年氣氛已開始嘍！

WOODY來分享一下與過年有關的文化習俗～

過年期間不打掃（你有聽過嗎？）

傳統習俗過年前全家會來個大掃除，但過年期間則不可掃地，以避免把財神爺趕跑，另外，垃圾也不能丟掉，必需等到過完年才一次的清掃，掃地時要注意要從外往裡面掃，象徵將金銀財寶掃進來；所以人們就會在在農曆年前，開始進行打掃。

俗語說除舊佈新，在農曆年前，人們將房子清掃一番，來揮別過去一年，以好心情來迎接新的、美好的一年。

As a Chinese saying goes, replace the old with the new. Before the Chinese New Year arrives, people set about cleaning out their houses. It is believed by doing so people can see off the old year and welcome a wonderful new year with a buoyant mood.  

在農曆除夕晚，人們會跟他們的家人團聚，並享用豐盛晚餐。

On Lunar New Year’s Eve, people reunite with their family members and have a dinner feast together.

傳說古時會施放煙火、鞭炮來驅趕年獸，但因為放鞭炮也有歡樂喜慶感，於是逐漸變成過年期間的應景活動。

It is said that people used to set off fireworks and firecrackers to scare off the year monster in ancient times. However, setting off fireworks has become a celebratory event, for it also evokes a convivial atmosphere.

為討個新年的好彩頭，不少民眾會在寺廟於大年初一廟門初開時搶插第一炷香。

To get an auspicious new year, many people race to offer the first incense stick as soon as the temple opens its doors.
