I can’t believe we’re actually here in Rio watching the Olympics Games. I guess I have you to thank.

To be honest, I was hesitating whether we could make the trip because of Zika.

Ken:

What events are you looking forward to?

John:

Soccer, swimming and rugby sevens.

Ken:

Rugby sevens? Is that one of the events?

(七人欖球？那是其中一項賽事嗎？)

John:

Yes, Ken. I have done my research. Rugby sevens and golf are the new additions to the 2016 Olympics. And for your information, this is also the first time an Olympics is held in a South American country.

(是啊！我可是研究過了，七人欖球和高爾夫球是2016年奧運新加入的賽事，而且順便告訴你，這可是第一次奧運在南美的國家舉辦喔。)

Ken:

So, tell me, Mr. Olympic Know-it-all. What are the must-see events in this year’s Olympics?

(那請告訴，奧運萬事通先生，什麼是今年必看的賽事呢？)

John:

Swimming, without a doubt, since this is probably Michael Phelps’s last Olympics. And soccer, because Brazil’s soccer team has never won an Olympic gold medal, plus the fact that it has enlisted Neymar.

(當然是游泳！因為這可能是飛魚費爾普斯最後一次參加奧運了。還有足球！因為巴西的足球隊還沒贏過奧運金牌，加上巴西這次有徵招Neymar。)

Ken:

And don’t forget basketball.

John:

Right. Do you think America will win a gold medal this time?

Ken:

I hope they will. If they do, this will be their third consecutive win.

John:
