  • BEFORE  面試之前,你需要

  3. Craft Your “Story Statement”
    Most people start and end with their professional experience, leaving little to inspire the interviewer.
    You leave out everything that gives meaning to why you want this job in the first place. How did your childhood influence you? Why does this job move you?
    A Story Statement shows that you’re a person, not just a professional. It also makes it easy for your interviewer to predict the next chapter of your story.

  5. Prepare for The “What’s Your Weakness?” Question
    It’s not about admitting your weaknesses. It’s about showing how you overcome them. What progress have you made? Include those thoughts to strengthen your answer.

  6. Brainstorm 3 “PAR”Anecdotes
    Many people have fascinating experiences but forget them when they’re on the spot.To remedy this, have three anecdotes ready to plug into your interview. Your anecdotes should follow a format:
               
    1.Problem – what was the situation?
               
    2.Action – what did you do to solve it?
               
    3.Result – what changed afterwards?
    With this format, you can adapt your PAR anecdotes to fit a variety of questions.

  • DURING 面試中你需要:
  1. Think Aloud on Analytical Questions
    Some interviews include tough analytical questions. Whether you’re solving for an exact number or rough estimate, it’s important to talk through your thinking. Don’t just give an answer; show how you got there. It would be a great way to show your communication skills.
    將問題分析的思考過程"說出來"
    有時面試時會遇到艱澀的問題。就是要求你回答一個確切的數字或答案(像是粗略估計需要多少顆乒乓球才可以容納一架波音777?)。這些問題最重要的是要通過你的思維來回答答案,不要隨便給一個答案,展現你如何得到答案。這會是一個很不錯的方式來顯示你的溝通技巧。

  2. Ask Questions That Kill Two Birds With One Stone
    At the end of your interview, it’ll be your turn to ask a few questions. This is a perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone – that is, asking a genuine question while conveying something new about you. Most people just do the first part and forgo a final chance to impress the interviewer.
           
    Example:
             
    Weak: Will this role provide opportunities to work in emerging markets?
               
    Strong: I’m passionate about languages and minored in Arabic in college. Will this role provide opportunities to work in emerging markets in the Middle East?

    通常在面試結束後,就會輪到你來問問題。這是一個絕佳的機會讓你可以一箭雙鵰。也就是說,當你問到一個好的問題時,同時也傳達了你的另一面。大多人只有做到前者,而忽略了後者,放棄了打動面試官的絕佳機會。
     
    例如:
               
    弱:請問這個角色提供機會在新興市場的工作?
               
    強:我熱愛語言,輔修阿拉伯語學院。將這個角色提供機會在新興市場在中東地區工作?

  3. Grow A Backbone & Ask This Final Question
    Before your interview ends, ask this one last question: “Have I said anything in this interview or given you any other reason to doubt that I am a good fit for the role?”
    However, the interviewer actually said yes and gave me the chance to clarify something that would have otherwise lost me an offer.
    勇敢挑戰最後一個問題
    當你面試結束後,可以問這最後一題。"請問在這次面試中,是否會讓你懷疑我是否適任這個職位嗎?"
    然而,面試官說是,並給予我一個機會去澄清,否則我將會失去這次的入取。

Email a Personalized Thank You Note
Thank your interviewer within 24 hours of finishing. It not only shows your gratitude, it also combats recency bias if you interviewed early.
